Dr. Robert Weston of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center has been reappointed as clinical instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The reappointment is effective July 2010 through June 2011.
Dr. Weston works in the Family Medicine Department at the Omak Clinic and has been part of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center since 2006. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds an M.D. from the University of Washington School of Medicine.
In his role as clinical instructor, Dr. Weston contributes to the goals of WWAMI, which is a partnership that has existed for 35 years between the University of Washington School of Medicine and the states of Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. The program's purpose is to provide access to publicly supported medical education across the five-state region, giving medical students an opportunity to learn medicine where it is practiced—in the community rather than only in urban, academic hospital settings. A significant part of the students’ education occurs in communities where teachers like Dr. Weston serve either in a full-time or volunteer capacity.
