Wenatchee Valley Medical Center is an approved Commission on Cancer Treatment Center. Some of the services we offer include state-of-the-art pre-treatment evaluation, staging, treatment and clinical follow-up for cancer patients seen at our cancer center.

Our Cancer Committee Team leads the cancer program by setting goals, monitoring cancer related activity, evaluating patient outcomes and improving patient care. We offer weekly Clinical Cancer Conferences that provide a forum for patient consultation and contribute to physician and staff education. We maintain an ongoing quality improvement program which is the mechanism for evaluating and improving patient outcomes. We also have a cancer registry and database that is the basis for monitoring the quality of care and cancer statistics.

Clinical Cancer Conference
Also known as the Tumor Board, these weekly conferences are held to discuss challenging cancer diagnoses in a multispecialty team setting. Every week, oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, primary care physicians and other relevant specialty medicine physicians come together to discuss the patient's care and treatment plan. Nursing staff, pharmacists, research and other allied health professionals are also in attendance. We also have the capability of involving our physicians in Moses Lake, Omak and other outreach clinics.

The Clinical Cancer Conference team carefully reviews each patient’s cancer and clinical history, pathology/radiology findings and surgical details if applicable. The most current diagnostic and treatment pathways as well as available clinical research trials and cancer staging are discussed. A plan of action and recommendations by the group are submitted by the coordinator to each member of the patient's cancer-care team.
